VibraCool for Runners

Running puts repeated load on your knees, ankles, calves, and feet. A single injury can set your training back for weeks. This is why having the right tools to manage pain and avoid injury matters just as much as the training itself, especially when preparing for a marathon or long run.

Introducing VibraCool

Drug-free vibration and cold therapy

VibraCool is a wearable, portable device that uses vibration and cold therapy. It uses patented Mechanical Stimulation (M-Stim) at a specific vibration frequency that separates muscle fibers and improves blood flow, paired with an attached ice pack that reduces inflammation.

Is VibraCool TENS?

No. TENS machines use electrical stimulation. VibraCool uses mechanical stimulation instead, which has been shown to be more effective than E-stim, simply because our bodies are designed to feel movement, not electricity. Mechanical stimulation reaches deeper nerves to block pain on contact more easily than a TENS machine, which needs a much higher current to reach the same level of stimulation.

VibraCool Extended device

VibraCool is physician invented, FDA cleared, and clinically proven:

3.4x more effective than TENS
(2019 AAPM&R crossover trial)
57% pain reduction
(NIH HEAL study, Baxter et al., 2023)
35% reduction in opioid use

How It Helps

VibraCool is a valuable tool for any runner. Here's how it can help.

Training for a Marathon

Building VibraCool into your training routine helps your muscles recover between sessions, so soreness doesn't build up into an injury that costs you weeks of training.

Before a run: Use VibraCool for 5 minutes to prepare and loosen the muscles.

After a run: Use the vibration and ice together to help clear lactic acid and reduce next-day soreness.

Overuse Injuries

An overuse injury is tissue damage caused by repeated demand on the same area over time. Two common examples in runners are Iliotibial Band (ITB) Syndrome, where connective tissue at the outside of the knee becomes inflamed from repeated friction, and knee tendonitis, where the tendon becomes irritated from repeated load.

How to manage overuse injuries with VibraCool: For knee pain, ankle pain, tendonitis, strains, or plantar fasciitis, place the unit directly on the area of pain for 20 minutes, repeating as needed.

FAQ

Common Questions

A 5-minute session before a run loosens the muscle and gets it ready for the load ahead. Preparing the muscle this way helps reduce the strain that leads to overuse injuries over a training block.

DOMS stands for delayed onset muscle soreness, the stiffness and soreness that shows up a day or two after a hard run. Vibration and ice after a run help clear lactic acid and reduce the inflammation behind it, which decreases DOMS.

TENS uses electrical stimulation. VibraCool uses mechanical stimulation, shown to be 3.4x more effective at relieving pain in clinical trials.

Yes. Place the unit directly on the area of pain for 20 minutes, repeating as needed.

Yes. Pain on the outside of the knee is often Iliotibial Band (ITB) Syndrome. Place VibraCool directly on the area for 20 minutes, repeating as needed.

Yes. VibraCool eases pain and tightness in the calf. Place the unit directly on the area for 20 minutes, repeating as needed.

Give your knees time to recover between runs and avoid increasing distance too quickly. Using VibraCool before and after training helps manage the soreness and inflammation that lead to knee injuries if left unchecked.
